FCP Shrink · Effective 24 October 2026
The short version
FCP Shrink does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. Everything happens locally on your Mac.
What the app accesses
The app reads the drives and folders you choose in order to find Final Cut Pro libraries and media files, and changes files only when you start it yourself: cleaning a library, replacing duplicates with links, removing zips you already unpacked, offloading or bringing back a library’s originals, repairing an interrupted run, or fixing a link. This information never leaves your Mac.
Network
The app makes no network connections of its own. Apple’s App Store handles everything else: showing the unlock’s price, buying it, Restore Purchase, Redeem Code and the occasional rating prompt. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services.
Stored settings
Your preferences, the list of drives and folders you allowed the app to access, a record of the links the app made and a log of what it changed are stored locally on your Mac, in the app’s own folders in your Library (the Mac App Store version keeps them in ~/Library/Containers/com.fcpshrink.FCPShrink). Deleting the app leaves them in place; delete that folder as well to remove them.
The app also keeps one small item in your keychain, “FCP Shrink free cleaning”: how much it has cleaned for free on this Mac, so that reinstalling the app doesn’t reset the free amount. It never leaves your Mac.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. The developer receives no personal or payment information.
